Eagle Creek
Eagle Creek makes quality products and backs them with industry-leading warranties. Keeping gear out of landfills, and making product with as little impact on the planet as possible, is fundamental to their brand values and integral to their design process. Their products are manufactured without toxic PVC plastics that contaminate the environment. They use recycled PVB by harvesting windshield plastics from landfills on many of their products for a water-resistant coating that adds durability to their products. The Eagle Creek ‘No Matter What’ warranty keeps their gear out of landfill. More and more of their products are being made with BlueSign approved fabrics which lessens the negative impact on planet and people in the manufacturing process. Also Eagle Creek has eliminated all plastics, including clamshells, inserts, and other materials from their packaging. Every piece of packaging contains 70% or more of post-consumer waste, which recycles discarded waste.
Sustainable Travel & Living
About 85% of hotel guests are using the packaged bathroom products. While we wait for more hotels to finally ban the plastic mini-bottles of care products, choose to reuse and refill your larger containers from home. Putting our kits together, we considered the stats that less than 10% of plastic actually gets recycled. That’s why for one, we have to support its recycling! The black straight sided PET Jars in this kit are made from 100% PCR, post-consumer resin. PCR plastic consists of a blend of recycled resins that would have otherwise ended up in landfills and replaces the use of virgin polypropylene resins. As a #1 plastic, its also more easy to recycle into beneficial new packaging someday than others. Second, we’re using light-weight and recyclable aluminum as well as a plastic bottle and pill box alternative. Our primary U.S.-based container company is proud to have 85% of their stocked products made in the U.S.A. And, we chose the plastic “3-1-1 Travel Sac” bag from Eagle Creek, one of our favorite responsible brands.
