The Origin Story
WHY: The Dot storage pouches are sewn by a group of former refugees in Chicago, providing flexible, sustainable income. Community is everything.
The Dot cup is a medical-grade, silicone menstrual cup that can be worn for up to 12 hours and used for up to 10 years. Every cup comes with a limited-edition, hand-sewn, canvas storage pouch. When you purchase your Dot, you’re actually purchasing 2 cups because for every Dot cup purchased, one is given to a girl in need, allowing her to go to school or work and to be an active member of her community, regardless of her menstrual cycle. Girl power!

Her Story Shouldn’t End with a Period.
For every Dot Menstrual Cup purchased, one is given to a woman or girl, providing her with the opportunity to prioritize her education, work, and community involvement without shame or interruption.
Their distribution partner, World Vision, is one of the most robust humanitarian organizations in the world with proven and sustainable approaches to poverty eradication, child protection, and investment in the women of a community. World Vision is also the leading non-government provider of clean water in the world, providing a new person with clean water every 10 seconds. A lack of access to clean water makes every aspect of life extremely difficult, especially menstruation and sanitation, which is why Dot chose to follow World Vision’s lead in determining the best communities to distribute Dot cups considering cultural appropriateness, clean water access, and other social and environmental factors.
A growing number of US colleges and universities are leading the way in campus sustainability and female empowerment by offering free or subsidized Dot Cups to their menstruating students. Dot has created a program to make it easy to reduce the environmental footprint of your campus, empower your students to avoid the cost, fuss, and toxicity of disposable period products, all while providing women around the world with life-changing menstrual solutions.
