Hamilton Perkins makes their Earth Bags out of recycled plastic bottles and billboards. The bags take about 16 bottles to make and each bag is lined with about 1 yard of vinyl from actual billboards.
The B-Corp certified company has partnered with Thread International and Ad agencies to help clean up parts of the world that need it the most by collecting billboards at risk of being tossed in landfills from Virginia, Oregon, and everywhere in between the east coast and west coast.
Perkins was the winner of the Virginia Velocity Tour hosted by the Governor of Virginia, and the recipient of a HUD Community Development Block Grant. The non-profit B Lab honored Hamilton Perkins Collection as a “Best for the World Overall” B Corporation in 2017.
To date, they Hamilton Perkins has recycled 1 square yard of billboard for every bag sold.
